a bowl of cherries

Friday morniing in portland.  Pick a bowl of raspberries to go with breakfast.  After breakfast, pick the pie cherries before the crows get them.

bikes arrived late morning.  Put jim's in the basement for safe keeping till he gets here monday.  Pulled mine out and assembled it prettly quickly and smoothly.  Everything appears in good order, but i'm going to wait till tomorrow to test drive it.  Feels good to have the bike and gear here, but i'm still not in biking mode yet.

Goodbyes were said; hugs given.  Ana and zoe took me to the airport; suzi went to perfom race duties at the sail club.

There is still a surreal nature to this whole venture.  reality can be an elusive state.  creeps up silently, like an old gray cat, and then suddenly jumps in your lap.  i'm sure it's there somewhere.
