the weather has been ideal till sunday. it's been cool and cloudy. we've started out in jackets every morning, only taking them off after we warm up from riding. the first day, we wore jackets all morning.
saturday, we had clouds till the after noon and then the sun came out. temperature was still mild. last night, past hood river, the temperature was warm. didn't need the sleeping bag, but not hot enough to make it uncomfortable or keep me awake. on sunday, sunny, cloudless, and warm. air is dry, though, didn't really sweat. working on that farmer's tan ( yes, dear, i'm using the block).
monday is the first tough day. Since we're up and riding at 6:00 am, its cool enough. but there are no clouds, clear blue skies. the sun just slowly heats up and there is no shade. that's the rough part. not to mention that the temperatures are drifting up into the 90's. still dry, but there is no shade anywhere. a light breeze helps at times.
on tuesday, its cool when we start, but by 9:00 you can feel the heat as the sun beats down. by 1:00 pm, it's pretty brutal.
